I needed a change of scenery. So I left Wall Street for two years and got a job in Africa with the Peace Corps. We've started a development program for local businessmen. You won't find them on the exchange, but we have our share of success stories. Helping Jomo get a loan to modernize his fishing boat has tripled his catch and meant more food and jobs for everyone.
00:18:37:02 - 00:19:11:17
Speaker 3
It's proved to me that investing in good people provides great dividends. Peace Corps the toughest job you'll ever love. Our planet's rainforest are burning. Less rain means less rain and an even greater threat from global warming. Right now, you can join the National Arbor Day Foundation and support Rainforest Rescue. You call would mean that the wildlife, plants and people that abound there will not be lost forever in the few seconds I've been talking, a forest the size of five city blocks went up in smoke.
00:19:11:19 - 00:19:33:21
Speaker 3
You'd better call now. I'm Waylon Jennings. You know, I've never been as proud as I was last year when I earned my GED diploma. I did it by passing the G.E.D. test sponsored by the American Council on Education. A GED diploma is just like a high school diploma. It can help you get a better job, go to college, or set a good example for your kids.
00:19:33:24 - 00:19:43:22
Speaker 3
Call the G.E.D. information hotline one 862 y, G.E.D., and you get started on your G.E.D. diploma like I did. It feels great.

Speaker 3
I've got the training.
00:23:41:19 - 00:24:14:26

And I've got the hard. I'm the defender under. Never cheat. I am the soldier. Count on me rising to the challenge. Whatever it may be, I am the soldier. Count on me.
00:24:14:28 - 00:24:32:13

Where do you turn to find help for an elderly person. You call the eldercare locator at 1-800-677-1116.
00:24:32:16 - 00:24:51:11
Speaker 3
I want to do something really nice for your friends next time you go out with them. If they're going to be drinking alcohol, offer to be the designated driver for the evening. That means you stick to nonalcoholic drinks and drive everyone home safely. Next time one of them can do the same thing for you. You could be saving them from being arrested or having a serious accident.
00:24:51:17 - 00:25:02:19
Speaker 3
You could even be saving their lives. That's what I call a friend. For more information on drinking and driving, write the Will Rogers Institute, White Plains, New York.
00:25:02:21 - 00:25:23:12
Speaker 1
If your family has been affected by Alzheimer's disease, you probably know that so far there is no cure. But medical science has made progress in treating some of the most troublesome symptoms. Ask your doctor and be sure to take advantage of the support groups and services that can make life for the caregiver a little easier. You're not alone.
